Boston has a wonderful and vibrant arts community and we're lucky that many Broadway shows make stops in the city. If you're taking a trip to the Boston, attending a show is a wonderful experience to include in your trip. Many productions take place in venues like the Boston Opera House in the Theater District, just a short walk or cab ride from the Inn. Here are the productions that you can look forward to taking in during the 2017 season:

Want to make a night of it? There are many fantastic restaurants in the Theater District, so you can easily enjoy dinner and drinks before or after a show. If you dine out before, let your server know your show time as soon as you sit so that you'll have plenty of time to make it to the the venue. One of our favorite restaurants in the Theater District is Teatro, which offers contemporary Italian cuisine. They offer fresh handmade pasta, antipasti plates for sharing, delicious entrees, craft cocktails, and a robust wine list. As an added bonus, guests of the Inn receive 25% off their bill at Teatro.

We highly recommend adding a show to your trip itinerary when visiting Boston. It makes for an experience that you'll remember for a long time to come, and with such great shows on the calendar - you'll have a hard time choosing which to attend!

Since it opened in 2015, Blackbird Doughnuts has been a hit in the South End! They make unique gourmet doughnuts from scratch in a small storefront on Tremont Street. All of their doughnuts are baked on site, and they play around with both classic combinations and off-the-wall concoctions of their own making! They use brioche dough, which makes for light and fluffy doughnuts which are then topped with house-made glazes and frostings. They also offer made to order ice cream doughnut sandwiches that are a hit in the warmer months. Their current doughnut flavors include options like Boston Cream Bismarck, Blackberry Currant, and the Everything Bagel Doughnut. Check their website for their full list of up-to-date flavors.

Each year we look forward to hosting runners and their families over marathon weekend. With close proximity to the Finish Line, the Inn is the perfect place for marathoners to stay. We’re also one of the only hotels in Boston with a full kitchen, making it easy for runners to store and prepare the meals that they’ll need before and after the race. In preparation for the upcoming 121st Annual Boston Marathon, we’re sharing a recipe from the cookbook “Run Fast, East Slow: Nourishing Recipes for Athletes,” that can easily be made in your suite at the Inn. Written by world-class marathoner and 4-time Olympian Shalane Flanagan and chef Elyse Kopecky, the ladies recommend this burrito recipe as a “hearty postrun breakfast.”
