Summertime calls for cold treats, and ice cream is what New England does best! There are no lack of spots in the city to find a scoop, but these five are favorites among locals and visitors alike. Whether you like a cup, a cone, or a even an ice cream sandwich, you won’t be disappointed at these Boston ice cream stops.

1. FoMu
655 Tremont Street, Boston 02116

Our all-time favorite place for an ice cream is FoMu! Wide open and welcoming, their Tremont Street location opened in 2016 and has plenty of seating. This location is the one closest to the Inn, but they’re continuously expanding, and now have a permanent home on Newbury Street as well. Their dairy-free ice cream happens to be vegan friendly, but even the most die-hard ice cream lovers will delighted! Our recommendations include the Bourbon Maple Walnut and Salted Caramel.

Upcoming Theater in Boston, 2017 Season

Boston has a wonderful and vibrant arts community and we're lucky that many Broadway shows make stops in the city. If you're taking a trip to the Boston, attending a show is a wonderful experience to include in your trip. Many productions take place in venues like the Boston Opera House in the Theater District, just a short walk or cab ride from the Inn. Here are the productions that you can look forward to taking in during the 2017 season:

Want to make a night of it? There are many fantastic restaurants in the Theater District, so you can easily enjoy dinner and drinks before or after a show. If you dine out before, let your server know your show time as soon as you sit so that you'll have plenty of time to make it to the the venue. One of our favorite restaurants in the Theater District is Teatro, which offers contemporary Italian cuisine. They offer fresh handmade pasta, antipasti plates for sharing, delicious entrees, craft cocktails, and a robust wine list. As an added bonus, guests of the Inn receive 25% off their bill at Teatro.

We highly recommend adding a show to your trip itinerary when visiting Boston. It makes for an experience that you'll remember for a long time to come, and with such great shows on the calendar - you'll have a hard time choosing which to attend!

They also offer made to order ice cream doughnut sandwiches that are a hit in the warmer months. Their current doughnut flavors include options like Boston Cream Bismarck, Blackberry Currant, and the Everything Bagel Doughnut. Check their website for their full list of up-to-date flavors.

We’re also one of the only hotels in Boston with a full kitchen, making it easy for runners to store and prepare the meals that they’ll need before and after the race. In preparation for the upcoming 121st Annual Boston Marathon, we’re sharing a recipe from the cookbook “Run Fast, East Slow: Nourishing Recipes for Athletes,” that can easily be made in your suite at the Inn.
