Heart truffles from Beacon Hill Chocolates.
Chocolate is a classic gift to give for Valentine’s Day and it certainly doesn’t hurt to taste test while you shop! From truffles, to chocolate bars, to hot chocolate, the city is filled with artisanal chocolate options and places to shop for confections for your sweetheart. These are our favorite Boston chocolate shops to get a Valentine’s gift:
Beacon Hill Chocolates
91 Charles Street, Boston, 02114
Beacon Hill Chocolates has been a staple on Charles Street in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, for over 10 years. Step into the store and you’ll be wowed by their elegant truffle case with a wide variety of confections from all over the world. Pick a custom selection of chocolates for your loved one, and choose from 25 different heart boxes, or one of their hand painted decoupage boxes. One of their most popular offerings is their caramel sushi made with caramel and marshmallow dipped in chocolate, and we can’t recommend it enough!
220 Clarendon Street, Boston, 02116
L.A. Burdick’s signature gift is their adorable chocolate mice! The whimsical mice come in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate, and each have different delicious fillings. All of L.A. Burdick’s chocolates and confections are made with high end natural ingredients and don’t include any preservatives or artificial flavors or colors – so you can feel good about gifting their sweets. Looking for an alternate plan to buying a gift? Bring your sweetheart to L.A. Burdick's Back Bay cafe for a “night cap” and enjoy one of their decadent “drinking chocolates,” like the single source hot chocolate from Madagascar.

5161 Windsor Street, Somerville, 02143
Based in Somerville, MA, Taza Chocolate makes stone ground chocolate that is minimally processed and has bold flavor and texture. After a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, founder Alex Whitmore brought stone ground chocolate to the US, and uses hand-carved mill stones to create their signature chocolate discs and bars. You can visit them at the Boston Public Market (location closest to the Inn) or take the trip over to Somerville to shop at their factory store and experience the factory tour!
704 Boylston Street, Boston, 02116
The store closest to the Inn is Lindt Chocolate, just around the corner on Boylston. It’s a short 8 minute walk to the store, which is located adjacent to the Lenox Hotel. Walk into the store and you’ll be offered a free truffle to start your experience! Lindt is an international brand known for their high quality Swiss Chocolate. Their Lindor truffles are very popular and come in a wide range of flavors from caramel, to mint, to hazelnut, coffee, coconut, and more.
Feeling hungry yet? The good news is that when you join us at the Inn you’ll be welcomed by a delicious chocolate bar from L.A. Burdick in your room so you can fuel up before shopping.
