It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Boston Marathon is just a few days away and the city is buzzing as travelers and runners begin to arrive. The bleachers and finish line tents are being installed in Copley Square and there’s plenty of excitement in the city.
As the world’s oldest marathon, the Boston Marathon is also one of the most prestigious. 2017 marks the 121st anniversary since the first event in 1897. This year over 30,000 runners from all over the globe will attempt to cross the John Hancock finish line.
Every year we look forward to welcoming runners and their friends and families here at the Inn, and we love to see familiar faces return year after year for the long weekend. We’re conveniently located less than 10 minutes away from the marathon finish line, and runners love the ability to prepare the food they need in the full kitchen in their suite.
For those who are looking for a spot to carbo load, local restaurants like Sorellina, Teatro, Giacomo’s (South End), Da Vinci, and Lucca all offer outstanding pasta dishes near to the Inn.
We’re wishing all of the runners luck & can’t wait to cheer them on this Monday, April 17th!
If you have additional questions about the Boston Marathon weekend you can find information on the Boston Athletic Association's website or you can call us 617.236.8099.
