This year Boston is really embracing the season with an installation at City Hall Plaza called Boston Winter. The Plaza has been transformed into a wonderland that includes a skating path, European style holiday market, ski lodge and more. Now that it's officially winter, we recommend a trip over to this unique pop-up. Here's what you can look forward to:
Skating Path: Lace up and skate the day away on the plaza's impressive 11,000 square foot rink! Kid's will love the path and the giant Boston sign lit up in green and red. Tickets to the skating path are $10 per adult and $8 per child, and skate rentals also available.
Holiday Market: Check some items off of your shopping list at the chalet style shops. You'll find over 40 specialty retailers offering everything from unique gifts, to jewelry, accessories, ornaments, and more. Retailers include Alma Knitwear, The Black Dog, Brothers Artisan Oil, Christmas and City, Lovepop Cards, and many more. Browse the full list of vendors here.
Food & Drink: Looking for a bite after skating & shopping? Boston Winter also offers a variety of food and drink options. We recommend a lobster roll from Yankee Lobster Company. You can also settle in at the Urban Lodge and enjoy beer, wine and soft drinks. If you're a wine lover, you'll want to check out the Vinopolis Wine Lounge as well.
After spending the afternoon at Boston Winter, we recommend taking the short walk over to Boston Public Market to end the day with an indulgent Peppermint hot chocolate from the Taza Chocolate Bar.
Boston Winter is open through New Year's Day, so don't wait to pay a visit! More details and information are available here.
