Explore Boston by Food Tour

Posted by Becky Shade on Sep 4, 2015 3:27:00 PM

When you’re traveling, there are lots of ways to see a new city. Here in Boston you can find guided walking tours, Duck tours, trolley tours and a lot more. All of these tours are a great way to see the city, to get your bearings, and to learn about Boston’s history.

However, if you’re looking for something a little different, we recommend trying a Boston food or wine tour. Here at the Inn, we are all food lovers, which is why we like to recommend this option to guests! Taking a food or wine tour lets you snack and sip like a Bostonian, and you get an insider’s view of restaurants, cafes and shops that locals love. Here are two of our top recommendations:

Boston-Foodie-Tours

BOSTON FOODIE TOURS There are several companies that offer Food Tours of Boston, but our personal favorite is Boston Foodie Tours. Founder, Audrey is highly knowledgeable and her passion for cuisine shines through. Through BFT you can select tours based on what neighborhood you’d like to explore. Currently they offer tours of Back Bay, the North End, and a combo 2-in-1 tour that includes Beacon Hill and Back Bay. The combination tour is by far their most popular. If you’re lucky, your tour will include a dessert stop at Ostra!

BOSTON WINE TOURS If you’re a wine lover, there’s a tour for that too. Like the food tours, Boston Wine Tours offers several different options by neighborhood. They have dedicated tours of the South End, North End and Back Bay neighborhoods. The South End tour takes you to three great restaurants in the area and lets you sample a range of wines paired with appetizers. Taking a wine tour is a great way to experience restaurants in the neighborhood, enjoy tastings and to learn as you go.

Have you ever tried a food or wine tour here in the city?

“Inn the Neighborhood” is a series where we share our favorite shops, restaurants, events and things to do in Boston, most of which are just blocks from the hotel. Check back to follow the series and find out our recommendations for the best things to do in Boston from the Staff here at the Inn at St. Botolph!
