There are so many reasons to love our location in Boston's South End! The vibrant neighborhood, which is recognizable for its classic brownstone buildings, is increasingly gaining a reputation for its restaurant scene and small local retailers. We've highlighted some of our favorite businesses in previous posts, like this highlight on the Urban Grape and our holiday shopping guide. There are almost too many favorites to name! This spring the neighborhood has gained even more wonderful additions. Let's give a warm welcome to these newcomers!
It feels like all of the South End has been patiently waiting for KAVA's opening -- and it was well worth the wait! This cozy joint on the corner of Shawmut and Union Park is a Greek Taverna and Wine Bar that specializes in small plates. With nautical rope lights and a hand painted details, the space is the perfect place to enjoy an evening drink. Bonus: it's directly across from one of our other favorite spots, the South End Buttery.

FoMu Ice Cream
Locally based FoMu has opened their third location in the South End, on Tremont Street. FoMu makes dairy-free ice cream and other earth-inspired products. Their treats are all 100% plant-based, kosher, and allergy-friendly. They also source local, non-GMO, and organic ingredients when possible. Not only is their ice cream sustainable, it's also insanely delicious! We love the Sweet Lavendar and Bourbon Maple Walnut flavors. Summer is just around the corner and the timing of their opening couldn't be better! We recommend heading towards Tremont to enjoy a few scoops.

Chef Colin Lynch comes to the South End with the newly opened Bar Mezzana. Located at the corner of Ink Block, on the ground level of Siena, the space is contemporary but warm. The restaurant offers coastal Italian dishes and features a crudo menu and homemade pasta menu that changes daily. They also offer classic Italian cocktails and a wine list that complements the Chef's clean dishes. Bar Mezzana serves dinner nightly, and we're also looking forward to testing out their Sunday Brunch!
