Valentine’s is less than a month away, and we recommend making your reservations on the early side. We’ve put together a list of some of the most romantic restaurants in the South End for Valentine’s Day to help you with your planning. All of our choices are nearby to the Inn and are wonderful spots to cozy up with your significant other!
The Beehive (pictured above) is a jazz bar that’s popular among South End locals. In addition to delicious dishes, they also offer world class music every night of the week. The eclectic Bohemian space is perfect for a night out with someone special. They offer a wide range of menu options, including everything from Bone-In Short Ribs to a Vegetarian Grain Bowl. Pair your meal with one of their craft cocktails and you’ve got the makings of a wonderful evening out!
If you’re looking for someplace unique, we recommend Banyan Bar + Refuge, which is an Asian gastropub with contemporary dishes. Their long list of share plates are perfect for two and we can’t get enough of dishes like the salmon poke, grilled baby octopus, and the warm delicata squash salad. Their décor is hip with installations of hanging branches that cast dramatic shadows at night. If you’re looking for a space that’s low lit and has a little bit of mystery, this is it.
Mistral has been a south end staple for almost twenty years and comes with our highest recommendation! With warm lighting and authentic accents like French pottery, it’s hard not to be transported by the ambience. Dishes like the Tuna Tartare and the Roasted Rack of Colorado Lamb are favorites among their regulars. Dine in the elegant main dining room, or pull up a seat at their lively bar!
Cinquecento is a Roman Trattoria with upscale Italian dishes. We love the rustic and cozy feel of the space, and the tufted leather banquettes. Cinquecentro offers Antipasti options like a daily market crudo and charred beef carpaccio. For a satisfying entrée option, opt for a pasta dish like the Fettuccine with foraged mushrooms, truffle butter and basil. For dessert we always go with the delicious Vanilla Panna Cotta with Salted Caramel and Almond. As a bonus, the restaurant also offers complimentary parking in the adjacent lot.
Coppa, from Chef/Owners Ken Oringer and Jamie Bisonette, is a popular spot among South End residents. Small and hip, the restaurant describes itself as a neighborhood enoteca. They specialize in Italian small plates, pizza, pasta, and charcuterie. Start by splitting a salumi or a cheese plate before moving on to pizza or pasta. Their space on Shawmut is small, but if you can get a seat it’s the perfect spot to cozy up with a loved one.
We recommend that you make your reservations early at one of the popular South End restaurants! Or, if dining out isn't you're style, you can also enjoy a romantic night in. Our suites come with a full kitchenette and have all of the cookware and servingware that you need to enjoy a meal – whether it’s made from scratch or a takeout order.
Book our “Be Mine: Valentine’s Special” and you'll also enjoy a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries in you room! More details below:
