Fall is one of the most beautiful times to travel to Boston! With the leaves changing, college students back in town, and cooler evening temperatures, there’s a wonderful energy about the city. We have plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to cozy up in when the days get colder.
The best way to see Boston is by foot, and we’ve been rated as one of the best walking cities in the country. When you stroll through the city you’ll see many historical buildings and landmarks and vibrant neighborhoods. In the fall we love to walk by the Charles River, and ghost tours by foot through the Boston Common tend to be very popular as well.

Since it opened in 2015, Blackbird Doughnuts has been a hit in the South End! They make unique gourmet doughnuts from scratch in a small storefront on Tremont Street. All of their doughnuts are baked on site, and they play around with both classic combinations and off-the-wall concoctions of their own making! They use brioche dough, which makes for light and fluffy doughnuts which are then topped with house-made glazes and frostings. They also offer made to order ice cream doughnut sandwiches that are a hit in the warmer months. Their current doughnut flavors include options like Boston Cream Bismarck, Blackberry Currant, and the Everything Bagel Doughnut. Check their website for their full list of up-to-date flavors.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The Boston Marathon is just a few days away and the city is buzzing as travelers and runners begin to arrive. The bleachers and finish line tents are being installed in Copley Square and there’s plenty of excitement in the city.
As the world’s oldest marathon, the Boston Marathon is also one of the most prestigious. 2017 marks the 121 st anniversary since the first event in 1897. This year over 30,000 runners from all over the globe will attempt to cross the John Hancock finish line.

- “Out of the way feeling while in the center of everything! Extending our stay in Boston at the end of a conference for the weekend, we moved from a conference hotel to the delightful Inn at St Botolph. The hotel's location is really optimal - within walking distance of so many great attractions. Around the corner we took in the observation deck of the Prudential Building, visited Copley Square, and took a duck tour. Within a few short blocks we also found wonderful dining at Kitchen and a show at Speakeasy Theatre. It was an ideal location.
